Concentrated Healing for Breakthrough, Not Maintenance
Private therapy intensives are immersive, extended sessions designed for moments when weekly therapy isn’t enough. Whether you’re in crisis, at a turning point, or ready to break long-standing patterns, intensives create the depth and uninterrupted focus needed for real change.
These 1–2 day experiences offer a structured, emotionally safe environment to move through trauma, relational wounds, burnout, or transitions without rushing. The work is steady, grounded, and designed to reach what your mind and nervous system usually protect.
Each Higher Ground intensive is custom-designed following an initial consultation. We shape the structure, pacing, and focus to align with your needs, goals, and capacity. Intensives may integrate attachment-based therapy, nervous system regulation, and, when appropriate, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. Clients may travel to work with us for one or more days at Higher Ground or at a location of their choice, request concierge or travel-based support, or work with us remotely via Telehealth.
High-touch, private care built for your life, your rhythm, your moment.

The Intensive Therapy Experience
The Work: Structured, Immersive, Deep
Intensives slow everything down so you can drop beneath reactivity and into the roots of your patterns. With 6–8 hours of uninterrupted work each day, there is space to explore what’s been avoided, protected, or misunderstood.
Attachment-Based, Nervous-System-Grounded
We use attachment science, somatic work, and parts-based approaches to help you understand what drives your reactions and how to shift them. This creates a foundation of emotional safety and regulation so change can take hold.
Custom-Tailored to Your Moment
Intensives are crafted around your history, goals, and current context. Individual, couples, and family formats are available with the option to integrate ketamine-assisted psychotherapy when clinically appropriate.
Integrating Change That Lasts
We close each intensive with a clear integration plan to support regulation, meaning, and continued progress. Many clients pair this work with follow-up therapy, infusions, or additional sessions to maintain momentum.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long is a therapy intensive?
Most intensives are 1-2 full days (6-8 hours per day). Some clients choose half-day formats (3-4 hours) or extended multi-day formats, depending on their needs and goals.
Do I need to take time off work?
Most likely, yes. Intensives require your full attention and emotional presence. We recommend clearing your schedule completely—no calls, emails, or distractions. Many clients schedule intensives over long weekends.
Will my intensive include ketamine?
Not necessarily. Ketamine-assisted therapy is one tool we use when clinically appropriate, but many intensives don't include it. We'll discuss whether ketamine would benefit your specific goals during your consultation.
What if I'm not sure which intensive is right for me?
Our complimentary consultation is designed to answer this exact question. We'll explore your history, goals, and current challenges and then recommend the best approach or create a custom hybrid intensive.
Can I do an intensive if I'm already in therapy with someone else?
Yes. Many clients come for intensives while continuing weekly therapy with another provider. We're happy to coordinate care with your existing therapist (with your permission).
How do I know if I'm ready for an intensive?
You're ready if:
• You're stuck in traditional therapy and need a breakthrough
• You're in crisis and need focused support now
• You're at a major turning point and need clarity
• You're willing to do deep, uncomfortable emotional work
You may not be ready if:
• You're in active addiction or crisis requiring medical stabilization first
• You're not willing to engage emotionally
• You're looking for a quick fix without doing the work
Most clients continue with weekly or biweekly therapy after an intensive to sustain progress. Some return for follow-up intensives. We'll create an integration plan tailored to your needs.
