Psychedelic & Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy
Sam specializes in KAP for trauma, dissociation, addiction, and emotional shutdown — the presentations where the defenses that have kept someone functional are also the ones that keep healing out of reach. Ketamine creates a precise neurological window where those defenses temporarily soften. What happens inside that window is the clinical work: preparation, intention, and rigorous integration that translates the experience into lasting change. This is medicine-assisted therapy for people who have tried everything else and need a different way in.
Couples Therapy & Relationship Intensives
Most couples don’t need another communication framework. They need to understand the emotional architecture underneath their distance — the protective patterns built years before their partner arrived, the moments where someone needed something and learned not to ask. Sam’s couples work is EFT-grounded and moves with intention. She offers private intensives for couples who want concentrated time and real traction, and ongoing work for those building toward it. The goal isn’t to fight less. It’s to reach each other differently.
Family Consulting & Attachment-Based Family Intensives
For families in crisis or transition who need more than a weekly hour and a gentle approach. Sam works with high-conflict systems, blended families, and families navigating a member’s addiction or mental health crisis who need steady leadership and a clear path forward — someone who can hold the whole picture, coordinate across providers, and say what needs to be said. Families come to Sam when they need a calm, assertive voice at the helm.
Through attachment-based family intensives, Sam helps members understand one another’s wiring, rebuild safety, and create new patterns of trust and communication.
Men’s Therapy & Emotional Expression
Sam works with men who have spent years excelling, providing, and staying composed- yet quietly feeling disconnected. Whether success has replaced fulfillment or anger has replaced vulnerability, this work creates space to understand emotion without judgment or pressure.
This work allows space to explore identity, relationships, intimacy, and purpose with honesty and humor. Clients describe the process as equal parts challenge and relief: a chance to finally talk, feel, and show up differently in their marriages, careers, and lives.
Complex Trauma & Dissociation
Some people survive by staying strong. Others survive by disappearing. Sam works with clients who have learned to disconnect, shut down, run toward adrenaline, or hold it all together past the point of sustainability. Many grew up inside conflict, chaos, or environments where safety was conditional. The work is somatic, relational, and paced to the nervous system — rebuilding the capacity to feel without losing control, one layer at a time.
High-Achieving Professionals & Integration Work
Sam works with people who look successful on paper but feel detached from their own lives. Perfectionism, emotional numbing, workaholism, process addictions, the creeping sense that the life you’re living belongs to someone else — this work moves beneath the productivity and the performance to what’s actually happening underneath. It’s for people ready to trade control for clarity, deconstruct the chaos of busyness that surrounds success, and abandon the appearance of fine for something real.
Addiction & Recovery Integration
Addiction work is personal for Sam. She understands the function of the escape route — what it was doing, what it cost, and what has to exist in its place before someone can actually let it go. She works with people trying to figure out the problem, maintaining long term recovery, rebuilding after relapse, or exploring psychedelic-assisted healing in sobriety. Equal parts accountability and compassion. Old-school recovery meets new-school science.

Depth-oriented work with emotional avoidance, complex trauma, addiction, and relational repair
Sam works with people who've never really clicked with traditional therapy. High-achievers, over-functioners, and deeply independent clients who look successful on paper but feel disconnected from their lives. Her clients need someone radically honest, grounded, and willing to laugh at the absurdity of it all.
Sam founded Higher Ground to create a different kind of therapy practice— rigorous enough to handle real complexity, human enough to be worth showing up for, and honest enough to tell you when what you’re calling progress is actually avoidance.
She helps people change long held patterns of relying on independence, perfectionism, distraction, adrenaline, or achievement to get through life. Traditional therapy hasn't worked because they don't need another coping strategy. They need to actually heal what's driving all of it.
Sam's clinical work is cutting-edge, somatic, relational, and grounded in attachment science— always in service of helping clients understand the patterns keeping them stuck and rebuild connection to themselves and others. She specializes in complex trauma, psychedelic-assisted therapy, intensive couples and family work, and crisis consulting for high-profile or high-conflict systems.
If you've tried therapy before and it felt too soft or too slow, Sam might be the right fit. She balances accountability with empathy, structure with flexibility, and clinical precision with real warmth.

My clients don’t need another coping strategy. They need to actually heal what’s driving all of it. That’s the only kind of work I know how to do.
