Where are Higher Ground's office locations?

Higher Ground has two studios:
Woodbury, at 51 Sherman Hill Road, Unit A202
Westport, at 25 Imperial Avenue
Woodbury has elevator access to the second floor; Westport has stairs at both entrances. If stairs are difficult for you, let us know before you book so we can find the right fit.

Does Higher Ground take insurance?

We're a private-pay practice, so you pay directly at the time of service and we provide a monthly superbill you can submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement. This lets us offer longer sessions, intensives, and ketamine work without an insurance company dictating session length or requiring a diagnosis on your record.

What should I expect at my first session?

Your first session runs 90 minutes, longer than the sessions that follow, and is mostly about your clinician listening. You don't need to arrive with things figured out. By the end, you and your clinician will talk through what format actually fits your life and goals.

How often should I see my therapist?

There's no single answer. Some clients meet weekly for 60 or 90 minutes, others prefer longer blocks spaced further apart, and some choose an intensive format for concentrated work. You'll settle on a rhythm together after your first session, based on what the work actually needs.

Can I meet with my therapist via telehealth?

For many services, yes. Telehealth works well for a lot of clients, though we'd note that a session squeezed into a workday or taken from your office rarely gives the work the room it needs, especially for trauma-focused approaches. If mornings or evenings are an option for you, we'd recommend those over a midday slot.

What's your cancellation policy?

We ask for 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule; inside that window, the full fee applies since the time is held for you. Ketamine sessions need 48 hours' notice.
